What is DoILikeIt?
DoILikeIt? is a wine research company that focuses on recreating real-life situations We believe that while focus groups and telephone polling do have their place for many types of market research, the complex relationships we all have with wine make these methods less effective.
Who started it?
Three of the UK’s leading wine professionals: Judy Kendrick; Hazel Murphy, and Robert Joseph, with over 75 years experience in wine between them. You can read all about them here.
Are you offering to occasionally send me free bottles of wine? Yes. We don’t like focus groups (held in rooms with two-way mirrors) or approaching strangers with a clipboard. We prefer real-life contexts. So, we’ll give people the chance to choose wine from a shelf as they would in a shop, and we’ll send them bottles of wine from time to time to drink at home with friends.
Why?
Because some of the people who make and sell wine want to know what those of us who drink them actually think. Rosé makers wonder if their wine is too pink, for example, and Burgundians if they should switch to screwcaps… And there are the questions wine drinkers would like to ask each other…
What does DoILikeIt? expect in return for these free bottles?
All you have to do is complete an online form describing what you, honestly, thought of them. Community members that get their views back to us by the specified submission date are much more likely to be asked to participate again.
Will it just be bottles?
No, there might be books, glasses, corkscrews… Anything to do with wine really.
What else does DoILikeIt? do?
Exhibitions and Shows You’ll find us at various shows around the United Kingdom (such as Masterchef, Taste London, Golf Live) asking people their opinions on the look and taste of wine, preferences when it comes to countries, regions, grapes, and more.
Online surveys At any time, there’s usually at least one online survey on the site, asking our community their thoughts on subjects ranging from the way they buy champagne to alcohol levels and the importance of particular wine regions. Click here to start the latest survey. These only take a few minutes to complete and you’ll automatically be in the draw to win a prize (winners are selected at the close of the survey and notified via email)
